NEWS RELEASE
Middlesex Integrative Medicine (MIM) is Gearing Up to Open its First Medical-Use Cannabis Dispensary in Norwood, Massachusetts
NORWOOD, MA (September 3, 2020) — 76 Astor Avenue will soon be home to the town’s first medical cannabis dispensary.
The 3,000+ square-foot retail facility was approved by Norwood’s Board of Selectmen in 2018 and construction was approved by the state’s Cannabis Control Commission and completed in July 2020. Nancy Koury, President of MIM, said the company is now waiting for the state’s final inspection of the property and expects to receive approval to commence operations in September.
“We have collaborated with officials from the Town of Norwood, its residents and local businesses through every step of this process”, said Nancy. “It’s very important to us that we show our appreciation for the approval to operate here, by taking steps to be a responsible and valuable member of this community, including a commitment to local hiring and by creating a retail establishment that adds value to Norwood.”
Patients that visit MIM’s retail location will be greeted by a highly trained staff ready to answer questions and offer guidance to help them find the best cannabis products for them. Customers will be able to select from various strains of flower and product options ranging from pre-rolls and tinctures to edibles and vape cartridges.
Eddie Bartlett, General Manager for the Norwood dispensary said, “Our team is extremely excited to open the doors to medical patients in Norwood and the surrounding towns. MIM’s knowledgeable staff is focused on providing education and guidance resulting in an exceptional patient experience. Having grown up in Norwood, I am proud to serve area patients while giving back to the community that means so much to me.”
MIM products are produced at the company’s cultivation center in Leominster, MA which was completed in late 2019. This 24,000 square-foot facility includes a state-of-the-art extraction lab that will cultivate and develop innovative products from numerous strains of flower.
Greg DeConciliis, MIM’s Chief Operations Officer stated, “It is our goal to ensure that every patient understands the benefits of cannabis so they feel confident and empowered about making decisions that can improve the quality of their life in very tangible ways.”
To ensure this goal is met, MIM will soon be launching a website with an online assessment tool that helps match patients with the best strains and products for their individual needs and health goals. The site will allow patients to check inventory and pre-order for a quicker patient experience. In addition, MIM social media channels will include community listeners to ensure timely responses to questions.
Nancy Koury explained why it was so important for MIM to take the extra steps of developing an active digital presence, “Because COVID-19 has restricted the way we can currently interact with others, it’s important to provide opportunities for customers to communicate with us, access educational materials and product information digitally to make the customer experience as seamless and easy as possible.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is also in the works; the company plans on inviting residents, community leaders and government officials from Norwood, as well as members of the local press.
